  • EquiCenter, Inc. (Honeoye Falls, New York) - Provides various horse-related therapies and programs for people with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.

  • Felicity House (Manhattan, New York) - Provides a comfortable social experience exclusively for women on the autism spectrum, where they can build friendships and community while engaging in various activities and events.

  • Foundation for Empowering Citizens with Autism (Mount Kisco, New York) - Advocates for appropriate educational, vocational, employment, community outreach and integration, treatment, and other related programs and services on behalf of individuals on the autism spectrum.

 

  • Green Chimneys Farm (Brewster, New York) – Provides residential, educational, clinical and recreational services for those with special needs, which nurture connections with their families, the community, animals, and nature.

 

  • Heritage Christian Services / Heritage Christian Stables (Webster, New York) – Provides care for people with developmental disabilities which includes residential support, day programs, service coordination, respite, community habilitation, employment supports, licensed home care services, and respite care for family members. Also has PATH Premier Accredited horse-related therapies and programs for people with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.

 

  • LAND Studio & Gallery (Brooklyn, New York) - Offers a unique day habilitation program that teaches life skills through the modality of art in a nurturing environment, collaborating with other professional artists, and where their work is marketed to the community.  

 

  • Life’s WORC Family Center for Autism (Long Island, New York) - Provides the comprehensive support and services individuals with developmental disabilities or autism need to face their unique challenges, using their unique Person-Centered Planning approach, which enables individuals to achieve their personal best.

 

  • Music for Autism - Started in the U.K. and then brought to the U.S. in New York, Texas, and California, Music for Autism provides sensory-friendly musical experiences for those with ASD and their families. Musicians include Grammy and Tony-nominated and winning artists, and Pulitzer Prize winners.

  • Shrub Oak International School (Mohegan Lake, New York) - Offers a world-class, private special education boarding and day school for students ages 14-22+, which prepares students for independent, purposeful adult-life, employment, and a self-sustaining future.

 

  • Syracuse University Inclusive U / The Lawrence B. Taishoff Center for Inclusive Higher Education (Syracuse, NY) - Provides individualized and inclusive higher educational opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Offers support, research, training, and resources to individuals, families, and college campus communities looking for strategies to foster and support college students with disabilities; and provides information about parents’ rights in higher education, course designs, accommodations for specific types of disabilities, and other disability-related resources.

 

  • Spectrum Designs (Long Island, New York) – Established to provide jobs for people with autism in the clothing print design industry.

 

  • The Metropolitan Museum of Art / The Met – Welcomes families with children and adults on the autism spectrum, and provides excellent resources to help prepare for a visit; as well as accommodations and programs for visitors with disabilities, to ensure the most comfortable and enjoyable visit possible.  

 

  •   ULTRA Testing (New York, New York) - Provides employment on their software testing services teams to individuals with Asperger Syndrome and similar autism profiles.  

 

 

 

  • Westchester Jewish Community Services (White Plains, New York) - Offers individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities a range of clinical and residential services to enable them to reach their highest potential. They provide group residences and supervised apartments for high functioning young adults to foster independence and socialization.

   

 

North Carolina 

 

  • Bitty & Beau’s Coffee (Wilmington, North Carolina) – Established to provide jobs for those with disabilities to earn money and participate in the community. 

 

  • The Carolina Center for ABA and Autism Treatment (Cary, Charlotte, Durham, Fayetteville, & Jacksonville, North Carolina) - Provides in-home and clinic-based services designed to increase motivation for learning; a language enriched environment; opportunities to engage in activities to meet their developmental needs and that allow for growth and development. 

 

  • Empower Autism (Asheville, North Carolina) – Creates programs for people with autism and practical workshops that prepare staff to be effective. Specializes in resources, staff training, program-development, activity groups, homeschooling, and home programs.

 

  • Extraordinary Ventures (Chapel Hill, North Carolina) - Provides people with autism and other developmental disabilities various jobs within the community including event set up, laundry service and delivery, data entry, packaging, mailing, dog walking, cat sitting, city bus clean up, and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill football parking. 

 

  • HorsePower Therapeutic Learning Center (Colfax, North Carolina) - Provides various horse-related therapies and programs for people with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.

 

  • NC Therapeutic Riding Center (Mebane, North Carolina) - Provides various horse-related therapies and programs for people with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.

 

  • TEACCH Autism Program University of North Carolina School of Medicine (Chapel Hill, North Carolina) - Provides diagnostic evaluations intervention services, support groups, parent mentors, parent teaching sessions; workshops for parents, teachers, and other professionals; and consultation services to programs such as schools or residential communities serving individuals with autism.
